Sp\u00e9cialiste de la France des ann\u00e9es noires, il a publi\u00e9 plusieurs ouvrages.<\/p>\n<p>Par ailleurs, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 de 1995 \u00e0 2000, secr\u00e9taire scientifique de la section 33 du Comit\u00e9 national de la recherche scientifique (Formation du monde moderne). En 1998, il a mis sur pied une coordination des secr\u00e9taires scientifiques et, \u00e0 ce titre, a fait partie du bureau de la Conf\u00e9rence des pr\u00e9sidents de section du CN, structure qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 officialis\u00e9e par voie de r\u00e8glement int\u00e9rieur. De l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 2001 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 2005, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 membre du conseil scientifique du CNRS (secr\u00e9taire scientifique et membre du bureau).<\/p>\n<p>De f\u00e9vrier 2006 \u00e0 septembre 2008, D. Peschanski a \u00e9t\u00e9 directeur scientifique adjoint au CNRS, d\u00e9partement des sciences humaines et sociales.<\/p>\n<p>En avril 2009, le projet qu\u2019il copilote avec Ed Berenson (New York University) \u00ab Memory and Memorialization \u00bb a \u00e9t\u00e9 retenu pour 3 ans par la Fondation Face et l\u2019Ambassade de France aux \u00c9tats-Unis.
